Hi - I just stumbled across your page here and with your intro "About the Author" and your reference about PhD in Physics and journey through Yoga, I thought you might benefit from "The Science of Yoga" by IK Taimni (a very important and thorough interpretive commentary of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras.

I teach Classical Yoga at the University of Southern California. I also share your interest in Science and see the "Union" between seemingly different disciplines of study. Dr. Taimni was a Professor of Chemistry in India and an adept yogi.

Best Wishes -
Cathie

it is easy to learn Yoga although it seems difficult at first try. I practice Yoga mainly for relaxation and for improving my blood circulation.

Many yoga classes are out there, and you may be turned off if you pick one that does not suit your personality and state of physical fitness. For most beginners, a hatha or vinyasa class will be most appropriate, depending on whether you want a slow or fast-paced class. These are basic styles, and you can always try something fancier later.

Exactly. The gossip may have been "well intentioned" but it caused you to do something you were not comfortable doing. Your post is a good reminder that occasionally we all need to look at what our mouths are saying and if they are connected to any higher form of thinking or even our hearts. I am initiating a gossip fast. Wanna join me? Not that we gossip that much, but just speaking about what we don't know about others. Or even what we do know.
